With a tagline of "It's Terrific! It's Technicolorful! It's Gay!" this LeRoy Prinz directed musical comedy had high expectations when released by Hal Roach Studios. Though short on running time, this film was long on musical production numbers with room left over for a romantic entanglement. The plot takes you to the Mexican ranch owned by Don Hernandez (Antonio Moreno), whose niece Cholita (Anne Ayers) is returning home from Mexico City. Her return brings the expectation of marriage to her childhood sweetheart, local caballero Jose (George Negrete). However, Cholita arrives with a new fiancé in tow: the pompous radio star Fernando Gomez portrayed by George Givot. With the stance that physical violence is beneath him, Jose schemes to frighten Fernando off the ranch back to Mexico City and win back Cholita.
